Unilever has funded a multi- million dollar research and development exercise to create the finest and most effective products. The Aviance products are exclusively formulated by using the technology of Unilever's Global & Regional Technology Network with centres in USA, Japan and Europe.

More than 700 scientists and experts of multiple nationalities from many institutions are working on new breakthroughs at present at the Research and Development Center, Port Sunlight, England. They work in co-operation with GTC or Global Technology Centers in Netherlands, U.S.A, China and India, as well as RTC- Regional Technology Centers, to jointly produce innovative products for consumers that can compete worldwide.

Unilever has established Safety & Environmental Assurance Centers or SEAC, an independent agency whose role is to monitor and control safety standards of all Unilever products right from the product development phase. They do this by closely collaborating with the product research and development teams to ensure that no Unilever product can be harmful to consumers or the environment.

They even analyse the source of raw materials to ensure that no harm has come to the environment in any way during its sourcing. Most importantly, SEAC acts as a watchdog, double-checking and verifying everything (even though it bears all official clearances) just to ensure that everything is safe and standardised.
